Features of China Exhibition

The official Festival starts this week and what better way to celebrate than with our like minded Festival partners across the Asia Pacific region. In this our 10th Auckland Festival of Photography, we present Chen Haiwen in partnership with Pingyao International Photography Festival, as part of a cultural exchange between partner Festivals in the Asia Pacific Photoforum. Chen is a member of Chinese Photographers Association, vice Chairman of Shanghai Photographers Association, executive vice Editor-in-Chief of “Shanghai Photography”. His work will be on show during the Festival as part of the cultural exhibition exchange between Auckland and Pingyao, cementing the cultural ties that exist between China and New Zealand. The show will be presented in black and white at the artists request.  We acknowledge the assistance of the following people and organisations for the Festival visit by Pingyao's Mr Zhang Guotian, Chief Artistic Director and Mr Zhao Yongsheng, Deputy Director Art Committee - Mr Dave Wong, Mr Jim He, Chairman, Pacific Culture and Arts Exchange Center and a big thank you to the Chinese Language Network for their support of the festival - see more on the link to experience Chinese language and culture - and learn on the edge with CLN.
