Welcome to Festival Zone for mid Festival, June 2014. The Festival exhibitions, events, talks and competitions are in full swing. This week we have more photography exhibitions on across the region in our memory, signature and fringe programmes. Dont forget it is only 1 week to go for the Silo 6 shows, closing 17th June and the Nikon Photo Contest 2012-2013 winners exhibition closes on 20th June, dont miss this exclusive international exhibition at the Aotea Center.

Memory exhibitions

Opening this week are two excellent and inspiring exhibitions  -  Jane Zusters, with Unruly Memoirs at Sanderson Contemporary Art at 5.30pm 11th June and Emil McAvoy at Elam Projectspace opened tonight. This is the last of the 10 offerings in the memory themed Festival work this year. Others include Ans Westra at Northart, Bronek Kzoka at George Fraser, Rob Gilhooly at Hum Salon, Ayala Gazit and Tatsumi Orimoto at Silo 6. Dont miss these before they finish.

This weekend hear Joe Michael at 1pm. Artist Joseph Michael shares a few works from his recent multi-media art installation dark cloud / white light. Michael will give insight into the creation of the exhibition which combines time-lapse photography, landscape art and sound to create an intimate experience of awe and wonder. The talk will be concluded by an audience question and answer session.
