Welcome to Festival Zone for July. We hope you all enjoyed the 2011 Auckland Festival of Photography last month. Look out for news on next year soon.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the our Rugby Blog during the Festival. There were so many great entries of Aucklanders playing rugby at all levels in their schools and club teams by so many great Auckland amateur photographers. You all worked hard and it was difficult to choose a best performer so Woodboy was the winner on the day. But Woodboy, the globe is the wrong shape! For July send in your photos here.
For all of you photographers who entered this year's Auckland Photo Day, keep an eye out for a selection of the Top 30 winners in this Weekend Herald's Canvas magazine.
Open now at Digital Darkroom on Dominion Road is the first solo exhibition by Martin Heffer, Simply Ordinary, until 29th July. Martin creates beautiful formal studies and atmospheric images sourced from his environment And for all of you looking for a great colourful cultural event to photograph, mark your diary for Sunday August 14 for the 65th Independence Day of India celebrations at Aotea Square. And in Australia next month, our Asia Pacific Photoforum partner, the Ballarat International Foto Biennale (BIFB2011) begin their great Festival. Their full programme is online now.
