TUESDAY JUNE 3RD OPENING NIGHT/1 NIGHT PERFORMANCE COMPONENT - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Helen Clegg's art form utilizes a strong visual device in the form of placement, containment and self portraiture with remote shutter release. The viewer is immediately connected with the artist/player/subject through this device. Connected, and invited to participate.
The exhibition includes a series of 70 x 70mm printed works, and also a participatory experience for the audience.
During the Tuesday Event, for one night, a live video feed from a performance space in another area of the building is exhibited alongside the printed works in the gallery.
The audience can see what is happening in this other room. The video is of other audience members discovering a room with a glass box.
The audience is invited to also crawl into the glass box, and take their own photo of themselves, as Helen does.
This image is immediately loaded up into a twitter feed to promote the Tuesday & Photography festival, and printed for the participant to take home.
