This photo was taken on the 9th of June 2018 at Cornwallis beach. I hadn’t intended to take photos at this location but on a whim decided to swing by it on my way to Little Huia. My impromptu decision rewarded me with a spectacular view of a large cloud formation over the Manukau Harbour. Stars peek through its gaps. On the left under the glow of the city, the top of the Sky Tower and its reflection on the water can be seen. To the right, people are fishing from the wharf. I wasn’t confident I would be get them looking sharp with my long exposure, but one fisherman held still for the entirety of my shot, beautifully silhouetted against the night sky.
