A Sense of Place brings together a selection of works that consider the role and impact of contemporary roads. Some works feature specific roads that have played a significant role in shaping the community around them while others consider roads in more general terms. Drawing loosely upon J. B. Jackson’s text A Sense of Place, a Sense of Time, this exhibition suggests that beneath the varied reactions to roads is a basic recognition of the road as a very powerful space. Curated by Talia Smith and Ioana Gordon-Smith.
