Through photographs Re-generation investigates the relationship between people and the Aotearoa environment.
The photographs explore cycles of time, the shifts between night and day, tracing history back to primordial times, making the viewer think about the very concept of time.
Kanuka are portrayed as a symbol of regeneration, since kanuka (and manuka) are the first native trees to re-colonise land, when farmland is reverted back to bush.
Accompanied by Shifting Atmospheres, an immersive soundscape, this body of work
was created in Waharau during the Auckland Council Regional Parks (2018) Artist-in-Residence programme.
