In the advent of the Auckland supercity, the Auckland Festival of Photography Trust this year observes the vanishing and transforming landscape, both physical and political. The Trust acknowledges the support of the seven city councils of the Auckland region over the last seven years. Beginning with just 10 exhibitions and events in Auckland central in 2004, the Festival has advanced to embrace the full panorama of Auckland, while upholding the integrity and identity of each province through the diverse and individual vision of each local exhibition.  And for the first time we are presenting in our 2010 programme a Talking Culture symposium showcasing the work of national and international environmental photographers.  The symposium seeks to further local discourse on the the art of photography, the effects of industrialisation on the landscape and the global issue of climate change.

We look forward to continuing to deliver this regionwide cultural event to you without charge and all-inclusive in the transformed Auckland region in the years to come.
