Stephanie O’Connor employs post production techniques, ordinarily used to hush and perfect, to accentuate facial “flaws”. The artistic, social and political goal is to upset the balance viewers have come to expect from the retouching realm. The figures become animal and creaturely, a pack of ‘hounds’ made powerful by their own imperfections.
